I bouthg this for a gift to my boyfriend, for the price that I payed the product is just fine, great delivery time too.
Good product for the price. Both the crimping tool and cable tester worked well for me. I'm glad that I choose this kit rather than just buying a crimping tool because it proved to be useful for testing cable connections as well as tracing unmarked cables.
With the EZ ends, the individual wires come out the front end of the connector so you can tell if you got them in the right order. I ended up buying a new crimper for over twice what this whole kit cost, and it's worth every penny. I made one more cable for a customer (I'm an electrical contractor), and it turned out fine. The EZ crimper cuts off the excess wire as it is crimping. I successfully made and tested 2 cables. Don't waste your money buying this kit.
It worked good on his cable. Also, the new crimper and ends that I bought were RJ45 EZ. I bought it from another site on the internet. After that, the crimper started destroying the ends, and as a result, the bad ends messed up the tester. I will be purchasing a better tester, also. I bought it to make an ethernet cable for my boys' X-Box.
